The raw placenta is known for its high contents of stem cells and growth factors which together heal damaged tissue and organs at an incredible rate.  Consuming the placenta raw is the most natural and effective way to benefit from your placenta after birth.

Your frozen smoothie pack includes a thumbnail sized piece of your placenta (there will be plenty left to be prepared into capsules or other remedies) and a handful of frozen berries. When you are ready for your smoothie, you will blend your pack with half a banana, and some spring water.

Simple and delicious…you really can’t taste the placenta, I promise!

Steamed Placenta capsules

The placenta has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for many generations; believing to restore the warmth a woman has lost following birth, and therefore assisting in her body’s re-balance, promoting an equal amount of yin (cold) and yang (warmth) once more.  This fine balance between yin and yang also helps with our immune system. It is believed that our body’s natural immunity, known as wei chi, is reduced post birth and is thought to be restored by adding heat.
The steaming process itself directs heat at the placenta, in addition, heat is infused into the placenta through the use of lemon, ginger and chilli. Chilli itself is warming, lemon being a grounding remedy, which alongside ginger aids in circulation and the distribution of healing properties throughout the body.  The steamed method of encapsulation will yield fewer capsules, as the steaming process causes some shrinkage to the placenta. From women’s testimonies, it appears this method of encapsulation provides more calming effects and may reduce chances of post-natal depression.

Raw/simple placenta capsules

It is often thought that the raw method of encapsulation means that raw pieces of the placenta are somehow placed within capsules – this is not the way it works. It is instead a way of consuming the placenta without it first being steamed; some believe the nutrients may be reduced by the heat.
Women who are looking to increase their energy levels after birth are likely to benefit from raw capsules. Another benefit is that a higher yield of capsules will mean they can be consumed over a longer period.

Taking placenta pills can mean:

  1. Increased milk supply

  2. Increase in oxytocin which helps your uterus return to its normal size and helps with bonding with your baby.

  1. Increased energy levels

  2. Increased iron levels.

  3. Less baby blues/chance of post-natal depression

  4. Less stress

  5. Reduced bleeding

  6. Quicker healing of stitches/bruising

  7. Boost your immunity

Which to choose?

When deciding upon the preparation of your capsules trust your instincts. Think about what you would like to gain after birth, a sense of calm or increased energy? To ladies I speak with, I also suggest they think about their personality and use that to guide them to the remedy most like themselves.
Both methods of placenta encapsulation will benefit you in a number of ways. Mothers say their post-natal bleeding reduced quickly, they had a quick and healthy milk supply, their hormones felt more balanced, they felt less baby blues and reduced post-natal depression, amongst many other benefits.

Each placenta makes an average of 175 capsules-Approx 8 weeks supply.

The steaming process shrinks the placenta slightly, so this method will yield a smaller amount of capsules.

You will take 2-3 capsules per day.

The essence of your placenta holds the power to heal you and your baby. It is known for supporting the immune system and can work as a substitute remedy when your placenta capsules are finished.

It is made from a small piece of your placenta.

You will receive it a dropper bottle, so you can add a few drops to a glass of water, as and when you need.

This takes 24hrs to make and will be delivered with your capsules.

Placenta Tincture:

This is often used to support a mother’s emotional wellbeing and mental health post birth. Many mothers who have previously experienced post-natal depression have reported benefits from taking this tincture once their capsules have finished.

It can also help with PMS and the menopause, so if this is your last baby, we recommend you have this made.

You will receive your tincture 6 weeks after your birth.

Carrier oil:

Placenta extract is used throughout the beauty and anti-aging industry in many countries, due to the placenta’s regenerative cell properties. It is excellent for healing scars, (including a c-section scar,) reducing blemishes, improving tone and colour and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

It can be useful for babies too, for nappy rash and for a number of other irritated skin conditions.

You would add this oil to your favourite cream/balm.

Homeopathic Placenta remedy:

Homeopathics, like essences, are remedies that heal on a vibrational, energetic level. A homeopathic placenta remedy can be used as the child’s remedy for life, as the placenta was their life-giving source for their time in the womb. It contains the blue print of their make up and therefore, the ability to bring balance and encourage healing from within when illness, disease, emotional challenges or difficult life transitions arise.
